Digging deep for prizes brings great joy

What a great Community Event we had on Saturday 20 January 2024 . It is really a privilege to be part of Rotary and do fun events like this for our community and visitors.

Darryl was the Games Master, and the kids were entertained with egg & spoon races, 3-legged run/walk, sack racing and a massive tug of war where both teams were equally matched, and it took quite a while for a winning team to appear.

The Beach Dig was amazing, and the kids did a great job in finding the 100-odd numbers which was buried in the sand. When finding a number, they could exchange it for a prize! It was great to see so many happy faces.

Many thanks to Jaap Honing for supplying the equipment for the Beach Dig and helping with the set up. Rotary could not do events like this without people like Jaap and Eleonor.

The sausage sizzle team was on duty to feed the hungry diggers and spectators – thanks to Four Square Paihia for supplying the sausages, bread, and onions – their help in making this event a success is greatly appreciated.
