Projects and Activities

Members of the Bay of Islands Rotary Club enjoy sharing their time and energy to help their community - and have fun doing it.

One of the best reasons for becoming a Rotarian is that it gives the opportunity to do something for someone else and achieve the sense of self-fulfilment that comes as a result.

Members of the Bay of Islands Rotary Club enjoy sharing their time and energy to help their community - and have fun doing it.

Our projects are many and varied and the following are just a small sample:

 

Current and Future Projects:

  • Beautification of Te Haumi
  • Written history of the club
  • Painting of the Kawakawa Railway Station
  • Dictionaries in Schools
  • Helping in the publication of a book by a local historian.
  • A joint Area 1 Club project to provide equipment for the Viseisei Medical Centre in Fiji
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Monthly support for Kawakawa Food Bank

 

 

Previous Club Projects:

  • Christchurch Earthquake fundraising (community kitchen)
  • Bledisloe Domain repainting and provision of kitchen equipment.
  • Donation to Japanese Earthquake relief
  • Helping with the equipment for the coastguard boat.
  • Benches on Paihia Waterfront
  • Equipment for St Johns Ambulance
  • Garden project at Kawakawa Hospital in conjunction with Kawakawa Lions Street directories in Paihia
