Club Services Committee
Within the Paihia Rotary Club we are the group dedicated to ensuring that our weekly meetings and social activities are varied, interesting, informative and fun.
Guest speaker programme
We invite people from all walks of life to come along to the club to make a short presentation about a significant achievement in their life, their interesting work or perhaps a particular cause with which they are involved. We have enjoyed a variety of speakers:
- School Principals
- Adventurers, explorers, photographers
- Business representatives
- Community workers
An open and varied speaker programme makes our meetings feel worthwhile by promoting an interest and understanding of vocational and community projects, both locally and internationally.
Fellowship is the cornerstone of the Rotary organisation, so we aim to make our meetings fun and worthwhile. A strong social calendar builds firm friendships.
As a member of a Rotary club there are many opportunities to build lifelong friendships whilst helping to “make a difference” in the community.
The Bay of Islands club has many great social occasions: Christmas parties, Burns Night celebrations and an annual President’s Changeover Dinner. We also organise visits to local places of interest; Kaleidoscope World, Pete’s Transport Museum, Kaikohe Heritage Village and Pompallier House are just a few examples of recent trips.
Each week our Bulletin Editor produces a newsletter which aims to give a resume of the previous meeting, provide information on forthcoming events and keep members up to date with other Rotary projects.
